Cross-Platform Conversion for EV Nova

About Mac Plug-in Convertor

The Escape Velocity games have always relied on the Macintosh's resource fork for their data files and plug-ins, which presented a problem when EV Nova was ported to Windows. Since the resource fork is not available on Windows, Ambrosia's developers created a new file format, bearing the extension '.rez', which mimics its functionality. They provided a utility with which users of the new Windows version could convert compressed Macintosh plug-ins to the new format, and third parties subsequently released editors that can create .rez files directly, but one thing was missing: a way for Macintosh users to convert .rez plug-ins back into a format that they could use.

Mac Plug-in Convertor fills that gap. Running on any Macintosh that supports EV Nova, it can convert .rez plug-ins into the traditional format to be played on a Macintosh, and Macintosh plug-ins to .rez for distribution to Windows users.
